Hey there! It's Megan and I'm so glad you want to get to know me a bit more. I graduated from Wright State University with a BFA in Acting with Musical Theatre Emphasis. I worked professionally all four years of college during the summer, and once I graduated (summa cum laude - woot woot!) the plan was to move to NYC. However, I took a detour and went to Orlando, FL where I graciously accepted the role of DORY in Finding Nemo: the Musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom. While in Florida, I was able to pursue various theatrical opportunities, find a new church home, and make a lot of great friendships. I rehearsed a new musical that went Off-Broadway to NYC and took up my Equity Membership. This all lead to the decision to finally make my big move to NYC as of March 2020.
Like the rest of the world, I could not have anticipated the extent of how detrimental the pandemic was. Through the restrictions and isolation, I was still able to find many blessings. I lived in New York up until November 2022. While there, I got connected with Broadway Weekends as someone who volunteered to help grow their platform. I am proud to say that I am still with the company, but now as a General Manager, taking on a lot of our exciting projects, educational opportunities, and awesome summer theater camps!
My time in New York was also spent exploring, taking classes, crazy subway experiences (and don’t forget the rats), and continuing to pursue God’s call on my life. I made amazing friends, found awesome congregations, witnessed some profound art, and moved three times in the process. Oof.
Through lots of discernment, in November 2022 I made the journey BACK to Orlando, FL where I am currently enrolled in graduate classes for a Certificate in Christian Studies for Theology and the Arts. I am also working with the Global Missions Team within the Florida-Bahama Synod of ELCA. Additionally, I substitute teach, work part time at Universal Studios, have lots of family time, and enjoy the sunshine!
Besides performance, I have a great passion for reading the Bible and growing my faith. I enjoy yoga, journaling, anything to do with animals (vegetarians unite!), and traveling. Oh - and pickles...any kind is a good kind!
